The Eggbutt Weymouth jointed bradoon is often seen with a fixed or slidingcheek weymouth bit worn with a double bridle, the nutcracker action acts on the bars and occasionally the palate which works well with horses that like a single jointed snaffle bit.
Bradoons are also commonly used as snaffle for smaller horses and ponies with small heads, as they are the same as a snaffle, however they have smaller rings.
An eggbutt bradoon is attached to the slip head on aweymouth bridle, and fit above the weymouth, in the corners of the horses mouth. A jointed bradoon should be fitted 1/4" or 1/2" bigger than the weymouth and the horses usual bit size. If the eggbutt jointed bradoon is to be used as a snaffle on its own, the usual bit size should be used.
This bit is dressage legal whilst being used as a snaffle, or in a double bridle with a Weymouth where permitted.
Available in 5", 5.5" or 6".
